Mountaineers Draw with Owls

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon University women's soccer team played to a double overtime, 0-0 draw with the Oregon Tech Owls on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Mountaineers looked to score early in the contest as Haley Hill took a shot 17 minutes into the game. Her shot ended up getting blocked and the game remained scoreless.
 
Fifteen minutes later, the Mountaineers fired another shot but the Owls blocked it. EOU and Oregon Tech could not find the back of the net and went into halftime tied at 0-0.
 
In the 65th minute of the contest, Oregon Tech's Amanda Hisey fired a shot on Jessica Parker and Parker made the save. Five minutes later, Parker made another save on Hisey and the game remind scoreless. Hisey fired her third shot on goal in the 80th minute and for the third time in the half, Parker recorded the save.
 
After 90 minutes of play, the Owls and Mountaineers were scoreless.
 
Oregon Tech had the only two shots in the first overtime period, as Alyssa Stewart fired two shots wide. The Mountaineers and Owls would go to their second overtime period.
 
In the second 10 minute period, Hisey continued to attack the net for the Owls and Parker recorded the save to keep the game scoreless.
 
Kendra Corless took the only shot for the Mountaineers in the overtime periods but her shot went wide.
 
After 110 minutes of play the game ended in a 0-0 tie.
 
Eastern Oregon returns to action on Thursday, Oct. 16 when they host Evergreen at 3 p.m.
