Scouting the Opponents
Concordia
The Cavaliers of Concordia come into the contest with a 10-4 overall record and 0-3 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The Cavaliers are averaging 95.9 points per game while only allowing opponents to score 79.8 points per game. Leading Concordia on the offensive end is Adam Herman, who is averaging 25.8 points per game. The Cavaliers enter the contest after winning its last contest on Dec. 30, when they defeated Willamette, 86-83.
Warner Pacific
Warner Pacific comes into this weekend with a 7-8 overall record and 1-2 record in the CCC. The Knights have won its last three games with its latest victory coming on Dec. 30 when they defeated Vancouver Island, 87-82, in overtime. On the season the Knights are averaging 80.5 points per game and are shooting 45.9 percent from the floor. Warner Pacific is only allowing opponents to 75.7 points per game while holding opponents to shoot 40.6 percent.
Last Time on the Court
As the clock expired the three pointer from Oregon Tech's Brandon Bautista rolled off the rim and the Eastern Oregon University Mountaineers came away with a two point, 75-73, victory over the Owls on Saturday night. EOU had three players score in double digits led by Craig Tuckers, 18 points.
Trevor Phillips and
Tony Eackles Jr. followed with 15 and 14 points, respectfully. With 2:18 to go in the game the Phillips gave EOU the lead, which they held the rest of the game, 74-73. With EOU ahead by one, 74-73,
Kalvin Johanson blocked Waits layup attempt to keep the Mountaineers on top. EOU added one free throw with 23 seconds left to make it 75-73. The No. 2 Southern Oregon University Raiders cruised by Eastern Oregon University, 83-60, on Friday night at Quinn Coliseum. The Raiders had five players score in double digits in the victory led by Eric Thompson's 16 points. Southern Oregon, the nation's best team in field goal defense, held the Mountaineers to 36 percent shooting on the evening going 19-53.
Blocks
Eastern Oregon leads the nation in blocks per game. EOU is averaging 5.7 blocks per game. EOU ranks second in the NAIA with 74 blocks on the season. Leading the block party for EOU is
Kalvin Johanson, who ranks second in the nation with 34 blocks on the season. He is averaging 2.6 blocks per game, which ranks fourth in the nation.
Rebounding

Week Long Break
The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers will return to action this weekend when they travel to Portland. The Mountaineers will be coming off a weeklong break with its last game being played on Dec. 21st. This is the third time this season EOU returns to action after not playing for a week. In both times the Mountaineers went 1-1 the week after having a week off.
