Box Score CALDWELL, Idaho – The Eastern Oregon University volleyball team fell behind 2-1 and could not come all the way back and fell to Concordia, 2-3 (25-21, 17-25, 20-25, 25-23, 9-15) Friday evening in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship presented by US Bank.
In a back and forth set one, Concordia and Eastern Oregon found themselves tied at, 6-6. The next four points of the match went to Eastern Oregon and EOU took an 11-6 lead. Once taking the lead in the first set, EOU never trailed again.
Concordia trimmed the EOU lead to one point, 17-16, after an Amanda Goringe ace but did not get any closer the rest of the set. After trading points, Kayla Randle put the set away for EOU, giving EOU a 25-21, set victory.
The second set did not go the way of the Mountaineers. With the set tied at 2-2, Concordia took the, 3-2, lead and never looked back. Eastern Oregon continued to battle and found themselves down, 7-6, after a
Taylor Stewart kill.
However, Concordia grew its lead back out to 11-7 and continued to grow its lead and the Cavaliers built its lead to 17-11. Eastern Oregon had no answer and could not mount a comeback and dropped set two, 25-17.
Eastern Oregon found themselves down, 2-1, in set three. The Mountaineers scored the next six points of the set to take a 7-2. EOU continued to hold onto its lead but the Cavaliers continued to battle and cut the Mountaineers lead to one, 12-11.
Once Concordia took the lead at, 13-12, the Cavaliers did not look back and built its lead to 19-15, after a Brianna Hogan kill. EOU continued to battle and cut the lead down to one, 20-19, but that was as close as EOU would get in set three as Concordia took set three, 25-20, taking a 2-1 lead in the match.
Set four was a back and forth set as it was tied at 8-8 after the first 16 points of the set. EOU continued to battle and scored the next six points, taking a 14-8 lead over Concordia. The Cavilers continued to battle cutting the EOU lead to one point, 17-16, before tying the match at 18.

Emma Richards broke the tie giving EOU a 19-18 lead. The Mountaineers continued to extend its lead and grew it to 23-20. However Concordia battled back tying the set at 23-23. With the set tied at 23 EOU scored the next two points giving EOU a 25-23 set four victory and forcing a fifth set.
In the fifth and deciding set, Concordia jumped out to quick 10-4 lead on Eastern Oregon. The Mountaineers continued to battle and but could not come all the way back and fell 15-9.
