EOU Soccer Shutouts Warner Pacific, 2-0

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon University Women's soccer team got back into the win column today with a 2-0 shutout victory over the Knights of Warner Pacific College. The shutout is EOU's fourth shutout of the season, and second most in school history.

The Mountaineers (5-1-1, 1-1 CCC) broke the scoreless tie 26 minutes into the game as Tori Fedora attacked from the corner and found Sydney Nelson eight yards in front of the goal and Nelson beat Allie Holterman of the Knights to put EOU up 1-0.

EOU continued to attack in the first half as Eastern Oregon outshot the Knights (1-4, 0-2 CCC) seven to nothing in the first half but only lead 1-0 at halftime.

EOU continued to outshoot Warner Pacific in the second half, as EOU outshot Warner Pacific 7-2 in the second half. However, the Knights had two scoring chances in the match but the Mountaineers goalkeeper Kailey Moss recorded two saves.

Shelby Tucker added to the lead for EOU as she took a pass from Katherine Hood and beat Holterman. The Mountaineers claimed a, 2-0, win over Warner Pacific.

Eastern Oregon returns to the field on Thursday, October 10 when the Mountaineers host Southern Oregon University at 2:30 p.m.
