Tony Eackles Jr led the way for EOU as he scored 18 points.
Craig Tucker collected his first career double-double as he scored 12 points and collected a team-high 10 rebounds in the victory.
EOU and New Hope Christian shooting was a bit cold to start the game as after the first four minutes of the game EOU led 3-0. Eastern Oregon continued to build its lead and after a
Kevin Attila three pointer the Mountaineers led 7-3 with just under 14 minutes left in the first half.
EOU extended its lead to 14 points, 20-6, before the Deacons started a little comeback. New Hope Christian continued to battle and by the end of the first half, EOU only led by nine, 33-24.
New Hope Christian continued to battle back in the second half and in the first two minutes of the half, the Deacons had trimmed the EOU lead down to five, 35-30. However, for the next four minutes of the game neither team scored a basket.
After the four minute cold streak, EOU started to pull away from the Deacons. EOU went on a 34-7 run to extend the Mountaineers lead to 27 points, 64-37, over New Hope Christian. EOU did not let the Deacons back into the game and won the game by a score of 71-41.
EOU returns to action tomorrow, Oct. 26 when they face New Hope Christian College at 4 p.m.
