Tucker Leads Mountaineers To 73-58 Win Over Beacons

Eugene, Ore. –The Eastern Oregon men's basketball team (18-1, 6-1 CCC) eased to a 73-58 victory over Northwest Christian University (7-11,
1-5 CCC).
 
Four Mountaineers would score in double digits tonight as Craig Tucker led the way with 17 points and 2 rebounds. Tony Eackles Jr. and Jason Mumm finished with 15 points respectively, followed by Trent Roos with 11.
 
Wyatt Taboh-Graziano led Northwest Christian with 20 points and 3 rebounds, while teammate Travis Pacos finished with 12 points and 5 rebounds.
 
Northwest Christian jumped out to an early 6-point lead in the first two minutes of the game before Eastern came back to tie the game at 6 with 16:41 on the clock.  A layup by Cody Thurmond would
spark the Mountaineers as they took  a seven point lead midway through the half. NCU then closed the gap to 3 but EOU would hold on to the lead and take a 6 point led going into half, 30-24.
 
As a team Eastern shot 50% (13-of-26) from the field in the first half and 37% (3-of-8) from behind the arc, as Northwest Christian shot 41% (12-of-29) from the field.
 
In the second half the Mountaineers extend their lead by as much as 16 behind the hot shooting of Tucker, who shot 6-of-7 from the three point line, five of them coming in the second half.
 
Eastern finished shooting 46% (29-of-62) from the field and 45% (11-of-24) from downtown as Northwest Christian shot 35% (25-of-70) from the field and just 5% (1-of-17) from behind the three point line.
 
All Mountaineer men would see playing time as the EOU bench would out score NCU 41-14.
