LA GRANDE, Ore. -- The Eastern Oregon University volleyball team looks to build on its great start to the season as it opens conference play this weekend. The weekly report of the season is now available.

Matches 9-10: at The Evergreen State College (0-5, 0-0) and at Northwest (2-3, 0-0)
When: Friday, Aug. 31, and Saturday, Sept. 1

Series: Under Kaki Morehead, EOU is 11-0 against Evergreen and 8-2 versus Northwest.

EASTERN OREGON NOTEWORTHY
• The Mountaineers have never lost to Evergreen State under Kaki Morehead. A perfect record of 11-0.
• Eastern Oregon is 19-4 against TESC over the last 10 years.
• Eastern has won 37 straight sets over the Geoducks, dating back to Oct. 14, 2005.
• EOU has won 48 of the last 50 sets against Evergreen.
• Evergreen last defeated the Mountaineers on Oct. 31, 2004, 3-1, in Olympia.
• Northwest and EOU are 11-11 over the last 10 years.
• The Eagles swept Eastern in 2010, before the Mountaineers swept last season.
• The Mountaineers had their 15-set win streak snapped at the Red Lion Challenge.
• EOU is 7-1 in the first set this season.
• Eastern has appeared in nine straight NAIA polls, but have yet to leave the receiving votes category.
• EOU received 49 votes in the final week of the regular season in 2011, its highest amount of last season.
• The Mountaineers victory over No. 8 Lewis-Clark State was the first in the last 15 tries against a top 10-ranked team for the Mountaineers in the last 10 years.
• EOU has won only four of its 47 matches versus a top 25-ranked opponent over the past 10 seasons.
• Eastern lost all six of its matches on a neutral floor last season, but are 6-2 on a neutral court this season.
• EOU has lost nine straight five-set matches dating back to Sept. 11, 2010.
• Eastern is in the top 25 in seven statistical categories, including fourth in digs per set, seventh in total kills and eighth in total assists.
Casey Loper is 10th in the country in blocks per set.
• Morehead is 17 wins shy of her 100th career victory.
