Spokane, Wash.  – The Eastern Oregon University men's basketball team defeated Montana Western by a score of 83-75.
 
Jason Mumm led all scorers with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Junior transfer JD Esters recorded a double-double on the night with16 points and 10 assists.
 
In the first half the game stayed close, as the Mountaineers (6-0, 0-0 CCC) would shoot 43% from the field and 10% from behind the arc. The Bulldogs shot 41% from the field and 22% from the three.  EOU would go into halftime up 2, 39-37.
 
The Mountaineers would pull away in the second half outscoring the Bulldogs 44-38. The Mountaineers connected on 6-11 from downtown and shot 53% from the field. The Mountaineers had 18-second chance points to the Bulldogs 9.
 
Montana Western was led by Maazin Butller with 24 points and 3 assists. Tyler Miller added 14 points and 6 rebounds for the.
 
The Mountaineers will take on NAIA Division I University of Great Falls tomorrow. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
