Soccer Drops to College of Idaho

Box Score

La Grande, Ore. – The women's soccer team dropped a tough match against The College of Idaho Friday afternoon 0-4.

Early on the Mountaineers (0-10-0, 0-3 CCC) seemed to be hanging with the Yotes, (3-4-1, 2-1 CCC) but just couldn't keep it up for the full 90 minutes.

The game was closer than the score indicated. EOU almost doubled the Yotes shots 20 to 11 and had two shots come off the crossbar late in the second half. Both teams ended the game with six shots on goal.

The Yotes had four different players score in the contest. The first goal came unassisted in the 8th minute by Katy Radko, as she put one in the top left corner of the net from eighteen yards out. The second goal came in the 29th minute, when Kayla Bigelow slid a through ball past the Mountaineers defense to find Jessica Ayala. C of I didn't waste any time scoring their next goal. It came less than a minute later when Sydney Woods found herself one on one with Kailey Moss and put the ball away.

In the second half the Yotes picked up where they left off. This time, Brittney Lacey found Sarah Hicks and she put the ball in the back of the net.

Eastern Oregon's Kelli Jones and Mauriana Gonzalez took 9 out of 20 shots for EOU. Two shots from Gonzalez were on goal and one from Jones. Goalkeeper Moss had two saves. EOU took 6 cornes and the Yotes took 2.

The Mountaineers will be home Friday, October 12th at 2 p.m. as they host Warner Pacific. Live stats will be available on EOUSports.com.
