Box Score La Grande, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon Volleyball team beat Evergreen State College in three straight sets (25-10, 25-16, 25-20), Saturday afternoon at Quinn Coliseum.
With tonight's win over the Geoducks (0-21, 0-12 CCC) the Mountaineers (16-6, 9-4) increased their winning streak to four.
Rebecca Haight had a match-high 8 kills and added 7 digs for the Mountaineers.
Alisha Crane,
Stefani Sorensen and
Casey Loper each had 7 kills.
Karly Stack and
Jessica Perron led the Mountaineers in assists, with 14 a piece.
Taylor Stewart guided the Mountaineers defense with 8 digs.
"It was a great weekend to be a mountie" said Head coach Kaki Morehead. "Tonight it really was a team effort and nice to come away with a win."
In the first set the Mountaineers dominated from the start and controlled the set throughout. The set had 2 ties and 1 lead change. Eastern had a .579 kill percentage as a team and cruised to a 25-10 victory.
The second set was much like the first. It also, only had 2 ties and a single lead change, coming at the beginning of the set. The Mountaineers would then get their offense rolling and coast to a 25-16 victory.
In the final set there were 11 ties scores and 7 lead changes. The teams traded points early on until the Mountaineers made a run and pushed the lead to three (17-14). Evergreen would make a comeback and take the lead 18-19 but EOU responded well and would go on to win the set and match 25-20.
Peshlakai-John led Evergreens offense with 8 kills and added 3 digs. Sahsha Nash recorded a double double with 19 assists and 11 digs for the Geoducks,
