HELENA, Mont. -- The Eastern Oregon University women's soccer team begins its regular season Tuesday at No. 21 Carroll College. The weekly release is now available.

NOTEWORTHY
• The Mountaineers will be playing for their third opening day win in the program's history.
• EOU has an overall opening day record of 2-8, with the last win coming at NNU in 2008, 3-1.
• Eastern has won once in the five attempts against Carroll, the last meeting came on Sept. 12, 2007, in La Grande and the Saints won 4-1.
• Carroll is 2-0 versus Eastern Oregon at home, and outscores the Mountaineers 24-4 in the five meetings. Eastern's lone victory over the Saints came on Oct. 7, 2006, 2-1, in La Grande.
• The trip to Great Falls is the furthest east EOU has traveled since playing at UGF on Sept. 7, 2007, Eastern Oregon's only other game at the Argos' place.
• Eastern will play the program's 165th game Thursday at Great Falls. The Mountaineers have outscored UGF all-time, 7-1.

Chantal Schefers is currently fourth on the all-time wins list in the net for Eastern Oregon, nine behind the leader, Sarah Androlewicz.
SOCCER SLIDES IN AT SEVEN
The Eastern Oregon University soccer team was tabbed seventh in the Cascade Collegiate Conference preseason poll. The Mountaineers received 41 points in the 2011 preseason coaches' poll. EOU was seventh in the 2010 poll with 47 points, before finishing with a 4-8-1 record overall and a 4-5 conference record. Concordia was followed by Corban, last year's conference runner-up, which totaled 86 points. The Warriors were followed by College of Idaho (75), Southern Oregon (68), Northwest (56), Oregon Tech (48), Eastern Oregon (41), Northwest Christian (35), Warner Pacific (26), and Evergreen (15).
EASTERN ADDS NINE TO ROSTER
The Eastern Oregon University women's soccer team signed nine recruits for the 2011 season recently. The Mountaineers welcome

Sarah Hunter,
Kelli Jones,
Kiah Jones,
Quincy Moore,
Lexi Olivo,
Allie Ukich, and
Brandi Zaragoza to the program beginning next season.
Fadenrecht, an incoming 5'6” junior, will be transferring from Clackamas Community College. The Portland, Ore. native was an NWAACC All-Star while at Clackamas. She helped lead the Cougars to the NWAACC championships and a 14-0-0 record in league play in 2010. CCC was a NWAACC quarterfinalist in 2009. PAUL-BOWDEN JOINS COACHING STAFF
The Eastern Oregon University soccer team has named Tennly Paul-Bowden its assistant coach for the 2011 season. Paul-Bowden was an All-Conference performer during her career at EOU. The Payette, Idaho native graduated from Eastern in 2010.
“I am very happy to have an outstanding coach and person join our staff,” Mountaineers head coach Keith Scarlett said. “Our players will benefit greatly from her expertise. Tennly has many of the qualities that you look for in an assistant coach.”
Paul-Bowden spent last season assisting on the Treasure Valley Community College staff. The Chukars finished with 14 points in the NWAACC standings in 2010.
