NAMPA, Idaho – The Eastern Oregon University women's soccer team fell at Northwest Nazarene University Wednesday, 3-0.

Under cloudy skies and light rain, the Crusaders (2-1) scored a pair of second half goals after leading 1-0 at halftime. EOU (0-2) was outshot by Northwest Nazarene 22-4, including 10-1 in the first half. NNU took 13 corner kicks, while the Mountaineers finished with zero.

The Crusaders got on the scoreboard with a Kim Bowen goal in the 27th minute of play. Bowen pounded a rebound which came off the crossbar. Moments earlier Autumn Yturbe had served Stacey Beckman with a cross from the right side, which Beckman then shot off the crossbar from 15-yards out to provide the opportunity for Bowen.

Northwest Nazarene added two second-half goals as Marie Smith and Kendra Courcy each scored off assists from Sarah Staropoli. Staropoli found Smith in the 65th-minute with a corner kick and then teamed with Courcy in the 68th-minute with a touch from the right side that Courcy finished from 25-yards out just under the crossbar.

NNU's goalkeeper Tanya Zickefoose earned her first career shutout victory and made two saves. Eastern Oregon's Chantal Schefers made four saves and Kailey Moss grabbed one.

The Mountaineers travel to Ontario Saturday for a non-counting contest against Treasure Valley Community College. The game kicks off at 2 p.m. MT. Eastern hosts Trinity Lutheran College on Sept. 22 in its next regular season game.
