The Mountaineers picked up their second Cascade Conference win at Northwest Christian University this afternoon winning, 25-16, 25-14, and 29-27.

Eastern was led by Grace Deboodt with 12 kills and 14 digs, Kaitlyn Duncan with 15 digs and Jessica Lea with 20 assists.

“It was a great way to start the conference off,” coach Kaki Morehead said. “It was definitely a team effort for the weekend, and our hopes are to continue to play tough and together.”

Cassie Bishop led Northwest Christian with eight kills, Mercedes LeClaire with 16 digs, and Taylor Hatleberg with 15 assists.

EOU now sits 2-0 in CCC play and Northwest Christian falls to 0-2 in CCC play.

The Mountaineers open conference play at home next Friday and Saturday against Southern Oregon University and the Oregon Institute of Technology. Game times set for 7 p.m.
