LA GRANDE, Ore. -- The Eastern Oregon University soccer team improved to 2-0 in the Cascade Conference after a 2-1 win Saturday over The Evergreen State College.
The Mountaineers got a goal from Kami Hernandez 35 seconds in to the match and held that lead for most of the match. Tennly Paul-Bowden added a goal in the 80th minute with an assist from Bailey Richardson.
EOU outshot the Geoducks 9-7 and put two shots past the reigning CCC defensive player of the week Sonja Daisley-Harrison. The Mountaineers' Allison Seymour made two saves in the contest and Daisley-Harrison made five stops.
The Geoducks found the back of the net in the 86th when Marissa Major turned a Nina Hinton pass into a goal.
Eastern Oregon travels to Klamath Falls on Oct. 2 for a match-up with Oregon Tech (8-1) (1-0). The Owls defeated Southern Oregon Friday in Ashland, 1-0.
