KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. -- The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers were able to pick up an easy win tonight after a long bus trip to Oregon Institute of Technology winning, 25-19, 25-16, 25-14.
“It was great to play consistently after a long road trip” head coach Kaki Morehead said. “Our setters did a great job tonight of distributing sets effectively.”
Melanie Ceciliani led the way for the Mountaineers contributing 13 kills and six digs. Teammates Jessica Lea and Chelsea Herron added 20 and 13 sets respectively, while Kaitlyn Duncan had nine digs.
The Hustlin' Owls were lead by Christine Bansen 10 kills, Jackie Polette 13 assists and Joey Larson with 13 digs.
EOU will try to pick up another win tomorrow as the play No 15 Southern Oregon in Ashland. Eastern fell to Southern at home on Sept. 11 in four close games, 26-24, 23-25, 23-25, 20-25.
Southern upset The College of Idaho tonight in five games 26-24, 18-25, 16-25, 25-22, 15-13.
After tonight's match Eastern now sits in fourth place at 7-3 in Cascade Conference play.
