Mountaineers struggle against the nation's No. 5 team

PORTLAND -- The nation's No. 5 women's soccer team put 15 shots on goal against Eastern Oregon University Saturday, and pulled away with a 4-0 victory.

The Mountaineers had trouble getting started against Concordia University. The Cavaliers put up a total of 23 shots, 15 on goal, compared to EOU's two shots on goal and shots overall.

"We ran into a great team with Concordia," Eastern head coach Jessy Watson said. "Give them the credit with the vicory. They are a great team. But, so are we and I think we are on our way."

CU's Jessica Ramback got the scoring going in the 11th minute when she intercepted a pass and took the goalkeeper on one-on-one and converted to the far post. Ramback found Kaitlyn Tebbs three minutes to go up two goals to zero.

Angie Turner found Indigo Recker in the 62nd minute after a mishandled ball by the EOU goalkeeper. Ramback scored again 10 minutes later after Tebbs found Ramback for the final score.
