LA GRANDE, Ore. -- The Mountaineers opened up homecoming with an easy win tonight over Northwest Christian winning in three straight games, 25-9, 25-13, 25-12.
EOU was lead by Jessica Lea with nine kills, 16 assists, and five digs. Teammates Grace Deboodt and Melanie Ceciliani contributed with seven kills each, and Chelsea Herron with 14 assists. Northwest Christian was led by Emily Miller with seven kills, Whitney Hoff with 11 assists and eight digs, and Mercedes Leclaire with eight digs.
“It was a good win for us tonight, everyone played consistently and did their jobs well” EOU head coach Kaki Morehead said.
After tonight's game Eastern sits in fourth place at 8-4 in the Cascade Conference standings behind Concordia at 8-3, Southern Oregon and College of Idaho tied for first at 11-1.
The Mountaineers host Corban College tomorrow night at 7 p.m. This game will also be part of the Dig Pink. Dig Pink is breast cancer awareness rally held during the month of October to raise money for breast cancer.
Corban lost tonight against the College of Idaho 11-25, 14-25,18-25.
