Ty Vinson

Vinson joined the EOU wrestling staff in 2016 as an assistant coach.

Prior to EOU, Vinson spent three seasons as an assistant wrestling coach at the University of Great Falls (UGF) under head coach Caleb Schaeffer. During his time at UGF, Vinson coached 11 NAIA All-Americans and helped the team to a second-place finish at nationals in 2013-14, as well as a fourth-place finish during the 2014-15 campaign.

Prior to coaching at UGF, Vinson served as a counselor for the Oregon State University (OSU) wrestling camps from 2009-13. His main responsibilities included technique training, conducting drills, and overseeing live-wrestling activities for grade school- through high school-aged athletes.

Vinson is a graduate of OSU, where he wrestled for five years and served as the team captain. He also served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

EOU head wrestling coach Dustyn Azure said this of Vinson:
"I am excited to announce Ty as our assistant men's and women's wrestling coach. He will be a great asset to our EOU athletic department staff and community. He brings a wealth of knowledge for the sport of wrestling and will play a major role in developing our women's program. We both have similar coaching philosophies and aim for the same goal of creating champions on and off the wrestling mat."
