Head Coach | 4th Season | 13-8
Mhar Caballa has been part of the Eastern Oregon University wrestling program since 2019 and enters his fourth season leading the Mountaineer Women’s Wrestling team in 2024–25.
Caballa was officially named head coach in June 2023 after serving as the program’s interim head coach during the 2022–23 season. His previous roles at EOU include graduate assistant (2021–22) and men’s assistant coach (2019–21).

Under his leadership, the team has earned recognition for success both on the mat and in the classroom.
Before taking over the women’s program, Caballa played a key role in the success of the EOU men’s wrestling team, helping guide the Mountaineers to their first-ever Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship, two top-20 national finishes, and top-10 academic rankings. During his tenure, the men’s program produced four NAIA All-Americans, 17 national qualifiers, and 13 Academic All-Americans.
As a student-athlete, Caballa was a three-time NAIA National Qualifier with more than 100 career wins, competing for both Montana State–Northern and Eastern Oregon University. He earned his B.S. in Health and Human Performance/Exercise Science and M.A.T. in Secondary Education from Eastern Oregon University.
