Coach Caballa enters his third season as the head coach of EOU Women's Wrestling in 2024-25. The upcoming season marks his second as a head coach. He acted as the interim head coach in 2022-23 and the tag was removed in June of 2023.
2023: In his second season, Caballa guided the Mounties to a 4-4 overall record and fifth place finish at the CCC Championships. Qualifying five athletes for the NAIA National Tournament, Caballa coached Liv Weiber to a fifth place finish and All-American honors. Successful on and off the mat, six different Eastern Oregon Women's Wrestlers would be named NWCA Scholar Athletes.
2022: In his first year as Head Coach, Caballa posted a 6-3 overall record. Caballa led the Mountaineers to a fourth place finish in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament and were ranked as high as No. 11 in the NAIA National Rankings. Caballa had eight NAIA National Tournament Qualifiers where they finished 12th overall.
Prior to taking over as the head of the Women's Wrestling Program, Caballa played an instrumental role as an assistant for the Men's Wrestling team. As a graduate assistant for one year and assistant coach for two, Caballa played a tremendous role in developing EOU men’s wrestling light weights and improving the strength and conditioning program. During his time along side Men's Wrestling Head Coach Dustyn Azure, Caballa helped turn the Mountaineers into one of the top teams in the country on the mat and in the classroom. In his last season as an assistant the men's team finished as a top-15 team in the country and ranked in the top 10 academically while winning the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship for the first time in program history.
During Caballa's time EOU Men's Wrestling produced four NAIA All-Americans, 17 National Qualifiers, three Scholar All-American Teams, and 13 NAIA Academic All-Americans.
As a student-athlete, Caballa was a three-time NAIA National Qualifier and posted over 100 wins in college spending two years at Montana State University-Northern and three years at Eastern Oregon. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Human Performance/Exercise Science from Eastern Oregon University. Following his undergrad, Caballa completed his Masters of Arts Degree in Teaching Secondary Education in 2022.
