COACHING CAREER
Wade Green enters his eight year overall with Mountaineers Football in 2024 as the Defensive line Coach. This is Green's second stint with EOU as he served as a defensive line coach for the 2006-2008 seasons and returned to the same role ahead of the 2020 campaign. A former defensive lineman himself at the NCAA Division I level, Green boasts over 15-plus years of coaching experience at a variety of different levels.

Eastern Oregon (2021-Present): Now in his second stint with Eastern Oregon, Green has continued to coach high level talent with two NAIA All-Americans in 2021. (Chase Van Wyck & Sage Delong).

Woodville ISD (2020-21): Served as Defensive line coach for Woodville in Woodville, Texas.

Jacksonville University (2018-20): Served as defensive line coach at Jacksonville University for two years before the FCS program was discontinued.

Kentucky State (2017-18): Served as assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator in 2017-18 under Hall of Famer John L. Smith.

Army West Point (2009-17): Prior to Kentucky State he spent 8 seasons at the United States Military Preparatory School. While at USMAPS he was part of three teams that beat Navy Prep, as well as Air Force Prep who competes in the Jayhawk NCJAA Conference. In the 2013 season, Green served as the interim head football coach at USMAPS, posting a 7-1 record on the season. Wade Green helped coach USMAPS to a 63-20 record overall in his eight seasons; USMAPS won seven or more games in all of those seasons.

Eastern Oregon (2006-09): In 2006 Green departed San Luis Obispo high school and joined the Eastern Oregon University football program for the first time. While at EOU he was responsible for the defensive line and strength and conditioning. In 2008 EOU lead the Frontier Conference in takeaways with (16) interceptions, (11) forced fumbles, and (31) quarterback sacks. The defense averaged (2.81) sacks a game in 2008 while running the double eagle flex. While at EOU he developed three all conference defensive lineman. One 1st Team All-Conference 2007, A 2nd All-Conference 2006, and 2nd All-Conference 2008.

San Luis Obispo HS (2005): In 2005 Green spent one season at San Luis Obispo high school as a defensive line coach.

Saarland Hurricanes (GFL) (2004): In 2004 Green spent one summer in Germany coaching in the GFL where he served as the defensive line coach and assistant defensive coordinator.

Cal Poly (2003-2004): Coach Green started his career under former Army head coach Rich Ellerson at Cal Poly. While at Cal Poly he spent two seasons as a player and one season as a student coach assisting the defense. In 2003 Green’s focus was assisting the defensive line. During that season the defense had (40) quarterback sacks and (11) interceptions. Later in the fall of 2004 he returned to Cal Poly as a defensive volunteer assistant, once again assisting mainly with the defensive line. In 2004 Cal Poly’s defense ranked first nationally in rushing defense, allowing opponents just (84.3) yards rushing per game, and ninth in scoring defense

 

PLAYING CAREER

Cal Poly (2000-04): Wade Green posted a strong playing career as a standout defensive lineman at Cal Poly.

 

PERSONAL

Wade Green is happily married to Jana Green, and they have a son Xavier. Green graduated from La Jolla HS in 1999 before moving onto continue his academic and athletic career at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. In 2004 Green completed his Bachelor of Arts then continued on into his career coaching.
