Andrew Woody enters his eighth season overall and fifth as the Offensive Coordinator with Mountaineers Football in 2022. He joined the EOU coaching staff ahead of the 2015 season after starting for three seasons at tight end for the the Mounties. He was an offensive assistant from 2015-17 before being promoted to guide the Mountaineers offense ahead of 2018.
Since 2018 when Woody took over the offensive play calling , EOU has earned one Frontier Conference Offensive Player of the Year award winner in Kai Quinn (2020). The Mountaineers have also produced 12 All-Conference selections on offense in that same span under Woody. Two Mountaineers have been named All-Americans in Brenden Kelly (2018; 1st Team) and Kai Quinn (2020; Honorable Mention) since Woody took over as Offensive Coordinator.
In 2021, the EOU offense averaged 284.8 yards of total offense scoring 16.2 points per game. Eastern scored a season-high 35 points on Sept. 4 in a 35-28 home opening win over Montana Western. One player was tabbed All-Conference on offense in RJ Thorne.Â
The 2020 season was ultimately shortened and moved to the spring of 2021. In four games played, EOU went 3-1 and won the program’s first ever Frontier Conference Title.  The Mountaineers offense averaged 30.75 points per game and 404.0 yards of total offense. The team ranked first in the NAIA in third down conversion percentage (54.5) and was 23rd in total offensive yards per game. Kai Quinn was named the Frontier Conference Offensive Player of the Year while EOU racked up seven All-Conference selections on offense. Quinn went on to be named an AFCA-NAIA Honorable Mention All-American after leading the Frontier Conference’s best offense that season.
In 2019, the offense averaged 20.0 points per game under Woody and put up 302.8 yards per game of total offense. The ground game for the Mounties averaged 101.6 per game and 201.18 yards through the air. Eastern also scored a season-high 45 points on oct. 12 in a 45-7 home win over Montana State-Northern.
The 2018 offense for Eastern scored 27.0 points per game and averaged an impressive 428.5 yards of total offense per game in Woody’s first season as the offensive leader. The passing game racked up 300.9 yards through the air, while the ground attack averaged 127.6 yards per game. The Mounties' pass yards per game was sixth highest in the NAIA, while the total offense mark was 12th. They finished the year 42nd in points per game as well. EOU had four offensive players earn All-Conference with two on the First Team and Second Team, respectively. Eastern scored a pair of 50-point games that season in back-to-back games, winning 54-51 over Montana Western and 58-24 over MSU-Northern. Wide Receiver Brenden Kelly was named a First Team AFCA-NAIA All-American. He set the single season EOU record for receiving yards (1,219) and put up the top-two highest receiving yard marks in a single game of 281 and 265 that year. Both single game marks and the single season mark stand to this day.
From 2015-17, Woody’s primary role on offense was working with the receivers and helping with the strength and conditioning program. Woody also served as the Special Teams Coordinator for one season in 2016. He was a member of the offensive staff that helped lead EOU to its first ever NAIA Playoffs appearance and berth to the semifinal game in 2016 as the team went 10-3. The 2016 Mountie offense averaged 31.46 points per game on 403.9 yards of total offense.
Prior to his coaching career, Woody was a member of the Mountaineers Football team from 2010-14. He appeared in 38 career games for EOU at tight end and was a starter in his final three seasons. He garnered Academic All-Conference honors four times for his performance in the classroom.Â
Woody received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from EOU with a focus in Accounting in 2014. In the spring of 2016, Woody earned his Master of Business Administration from EOU.
Born in Springfield, Ore., he is the son of Max and Samantha Woody, has one sister, Lindsey, and one brother, Tanner. He played his high school football at Thurston High School and was a three-time All-Conference wide receiver and a two-time All-State selection.
In his free time, Woody enjoys any outdoor activity, such as rafting, hiking, hunting, camping, and football. He also enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
