SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – The No. 25 Eastern Oregon men's wrestling team closed out the regular season with a 30–12 loss to No. 6 Southern Oregon University on Friday night. The Mountaineers finish the dual season with a 6–6 overall record.

Facing one of the nation's top programs and a lineup featuring multiple nationally ranked wrestlers, Eastern Oregon was unable to overcome the Raiders, who claimed seven of the 10 bouts. The result mirrored the teams' earlier meeting this season, when Southern Oregon also earned a decisive victory.

The dual opened at 125 pounds, where Jackson Eylar fell by pin to No. 17 Kyle Sieminski. Eastern Oregon answered at 133 pounds as No. 13 Braden Carson earned a 5–1 decision over Zach Keinonen to put the Mounties on the board. At 141 pounds, Brode Colwell dropped a 17–2 decision to Dylan Clark, resulting in a technical fall and extending Southern Oregon's lead. The Mountaineers responded once again at 149 pounds, as No. 21 Eric Larwin pinned No. 6 Kolton Malone to pull EOU back within two points.

Southern Oregon regained momentum by winning the next five matches at 157, 165, 174, 184, and 197 pounds, earning one major decision, three decisions, and one technical fall to push the team score to 30–9. Eastern Oregon closed the night on a high note at heavyweight, with No. 13 Nicolas Rodriguez securing a 6–0 decision over Sebastian Echeverria for the Mountaineers' final points.

Eastern Oregon now turns its attention to the Cascade Conference Tournament, scheduled for February 20–21 in Salem, Oregon.
