KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the second consecutive year, all 17 of Eastern Oregon University's athletic programs have been selected as NAIA National Scholar Teams, announced by the association on Monday as part of its National Awards Day.
The honor is awarded to teams across the NAIA that achieve a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, including all student-athletes on the active roster. For the 2024-25 season, over 1,400 programs were recognized nationally.
The Cascade Collegiate Conference had a strong showing, with 130 teams receiving the distinction. College of Idaho led the conference with 18 teams honored, followed by Eastern Oregon and Corban with 17 each.
Leading the Mountaineers was the Women's Basketball team, posting a GPA of 3.74—the highest among all EOU programs and the top mark in the CCC for the sport. Women's Volleyball followed with a 3.65 GPA, ranking fourth in the CCC, and Women's Soccer came next at 3.54, good for third in the conference.
Both Women's Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field programs earned 3.52 GPAs, ranking second and third in the CCC and rounding out the top five for Eastern Oregon.
