LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon Football delivered a commanding performance on Saturday, defeating Simpson 61-7 at Community Stadium. The Mountaineers ran for 385 yards, with five different players recording rushing touchdowns, as they secured their fourth win of the season.
EOU set the tone early, with Quincy Glasper scoring on a 20-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Shortly after, Glasper connected with Malachi Spurrier on a 53-yard touchdown pass, giving the Mounties a 14-0 lead. Eastern Oregon continued to dominate in the second quarter with touchdowns from Anthony Peterson and another run by Glasper, extending the lead to 28-0. Simpson's only score came late in the half, as Kaleb Anderson recovered his own fumble for the touchdown, narrowing the deficit to 28-7 at halftime.
The Mountaineers reached deeper into their playbook in the second half, faking a reverse that led to Parker Robinson throwing a 33-yard touchdown pass to Walker Camp. Glasper then found Spurrier for their second touchdown connection, making it 41-7. Eastern Oregon closed out the game with three more rushing touchdowns from Elia Kirisimasi, Reece Dixon, and Kyle Littlejohn, sealing the dominant 61-7 victory.
Glasper led EOU's offense, completing 11 of 16 passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 66 yards and two scores. Spurrier was the top receiver, catching six passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Reece Dixon led the rushing attack with 92 yards and a touchdown, while four other players also found the end zone on the ground.
Defensively, the Mounties held Simpson to 311 total yards, including only 170 on the ground. Sam Cadenas anchored the defense, recovering a fumble and contributing three tackles. Nehemiah Medrano finished with a game-high 9 tackles, followed closely by Cole Martin with eight tackles of his own.
Simpson's top offensive performer was quarterback Kaleb Anderson, who completed 18 of 27 passes for 141 yards, added 35 rushing yards, and scored the team's only touchdown with a 5-yard fumble recovery. Mikah Kindell led the ground game with 76 yards on 17 carries, while Nathaniel Monti was the top receiver with 4 catches for 43 yards.
On defense, Kai Santos led with 11 tackles, while Nicholas Banuel added 8 tackles and forced a fumble.
Eastern Oregon will return to Community Stadium next weekend when they face the College of Idaho Yotes at 6:00 p.m. on November 2nd.
