Box Score HONOLULU, Hawaii - The No. 17 Eastern Oregon women's basketball team faced off against Stanislaus State in their first matchup in Honolulu on Friday. The game was a closely contested battle from start to finish, ultimately concluding with Stanislaus State securing the victory with a final score of 69-64.
The first quarter saw Stanislaus State take an early lead with a score of 17-11. Eastern Oregon, however, responded strongly in the second quarter, outscoring their opponents 20-11 to take a narrow lead heading into halftime. The two teams battled throughout the second half, ending regulation at 57-57 to force overtime. Stanislaus pushed ahead in overtime, claiming the 69-64 victory.Â
Forward Brie Holecek played for 36 minutes, registering an impressive 44.4% field goal percentage and contributing 13 points, going 5-6 from the free throw line. Haley Robinett also recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Stanislaus State was led by a balanced attack, seeing three different players score double-digit points and ten score points in the contest.
Eastern Oregon will return to action tomorrow afternoon, set to take on Montana State-Northern at 3 p.m. Hawaiian time.
