KEIZER, Ore. – Mountaineers Baseball dropped both games in their Saturday Twin Bill match-up against the Corban University Warriors. Eastern Oregon fell by final scores of 11-3 and 7-0 in what was the team's final non-conference games of the regular season.
Game 1 – Corban 11, Eastern Oregon 3
How it Happened
• Helping in the game one win of day two for the Warriors (12-9-1) was 16 hits, while their defense held Mountaineers (7-18) to just nine.
• Both teams limited their mistakes on the day as Eastern had just two errors, while Corban committed one. In all the two squads left a combined 21 runners stranded in the contest.
• The Mounties grabbed the game's first lead in the first inning scoring one run on an RBI single from
Hector Carreon. Corban tied the game in the second on an RBI base hit as well.
• The score remained tied at 1-1 before the Warriors tacked on three runs in the fourth. Four hits, including a solo home run allowed Corban to go ahead 4-1 and they never looked back.
• EOU got a run back in the fifth to stay within two runs at 4-2.
Matt Garcia had an RBI single that scored
Adrian Roa who got on thanks to a leadoff error by the Warriors.
• The Warriors went back ahead by three, 5-2, in the sixth. They opened the game up with five runs scored in the seventh on four hits and two EOU errors to lead 10-2.
• Both squads tacked on a run in the eighth to bring the final to 11-3. Garcia hit an RBI groundout to score Carreon for EOU's final run.

• Zack Simon (3-2) pitched five complete innings and had a game-high eight strikeouts.
• Trevor Szczepanek earned the save and fanned three batters.
Game 2 – Corban 7, EOU 0 (6 Innings)
How it Happened
• The Warriors earned the series win with a shutout in the rain shortened finale. They tallied seven hits and held the Mountaineers to just three.
• Both teams had two errors on the day. For Corban, three runs scored in the second and sixth were key in the win.
• The Warriors' first run came in the bottom of the first on a sacrifice fly. Their lead grew to 4-0 after the second thanks to a pair of RBI singles and a sacrifice fly.
• The score remained 4-0 until the sixth as both teams played stout defense. A pair of hits, paired with a leadoff walk helped Corban tack on three more runs to secure the 7-0 win.
