RENO, Nevada – No. 17 Eastern Oregon Men's Wrestling saw its four-dual win streak snapped on Friday afternoon as the team fell 28-17 against No. 10 Montana State-Northern. With the loss, the Mountaineers are now 4-3 overall in dual action and 2-2 against conference foes.

Helping the Lights (4-1, 3-0 CCC) stay undefeated in conference action were three wins by way of pin and a tech fall. EOU keot things close all night despite coming up short of the upset bid and secured individual wins from Luciano Fasulo, Vincent Cramer, Keegan Mulhill, Kyle Knudtson, and Noel Orozco.

Fasulo gave EOU the lead, 3-0, with a 9-3 decision at 125 pounds, but wins from the Lights at 133 and 141 pounds put them ahead 9-3. A tech fall at 133 pounds followed by a major decision allowed MSU-Northern to jump ahead and they never relinquished the lead.

At 149 pounds, Cramer helped Eastern cut their deficit to three points, 9-6, with a 8-5 decision to keep things close. The Lights then responded by posting back-to-back falls at 157 and 165 pounds to go up 21-6. 

The final two wins for EOU came at 174 pounds and 184 pounds as Mulhill and Knudtson combined for nine points to help them make one last push at a comeback. Mulhill scored a slim 3-1 decision to make it a 21-9 score before a fall in 2:17 by Knudtson made it a 21-15 contest.

A pin from the Lights in the 197-pound bout gave them a 27-15 lead and ultimately sealed their victory. Orozco brought EOU to its final point total of 18 with a 4-1 decision at 285 pounds. With the win, the Lights are 5-0 against EOU since the program reinstatement.

The Mountaineers will have a day's rest before returning to the mats. EOU will compete in the Reno Tournament of Champions on Sunday, Dec. 19 with mat action beginning at 9 a.m. PT inside the Reno Events Center.
