KIRKLAND, Wash. - Mountaineer Men's Soccer suffered an overtime loss Friday afternoon as Eastern Oregon fell 1-0 on the road to Northwest University. With the loss, EOU is now 6-9-0 overall and 6-6-0 in conference play.
How it Happened
• Helping Northwest (9-6-2, 5-5-2 CCC) secure the win at home was a 25-9 edge in shots, with 15 coming on goal.
• Defensively, the eagles limited the Mountaineers to just four shots on goal the whole contest.
• Both teams had opportunities as Northwest put up seven corner kick attempts, while EOU was just one back at six.
• Neither team found the back of the net in the first 45 minutes of play, but the Eagles did go into the break outshooting the Mountaineers 11-4 (8-3 SOG).
• Although Eastern was limited to just four shots in the period, they did have three come on goal to maintain a level of efficiency.
• In the second period, the Eagles found a strong rhythm on defense and held the Mountaineers to just one shot on goal.
• Northwest added another 11 shots in the second 45 minutes of play while EOU had five. Despite the difference in shots the game went into overtime.
• It was in the final minute of the OT period when Northwest struck with the golden goal. Elliott Misic netted the gamewinner to lift the Eagles to a 1-0 victory.
• The Mountaineers were unable to put up a shot in the OT period en route to the one-goal defeat.
• Both teams played a relatively clean game as they each finished with just five team fouls in 99 minutes of play.

• Gian Herrera was credited with the assist on the Misic goal. He finished with four shots and two were on goal.
• Kyler McIntosh and Titus Nickson both had three shots in the win and two were on goal, respectively.
• Goalkeeper Alexander Thiehofe tallied four saves in the shutout victory.
