Game Notes: Mountaineers Finish 4 of 5 on the Road at No. 19 UMW

LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon football team visits No. 19 Montana Western in Dillon, Montana on Saturday at 1 p.m. as they return to Frontier Conference action after a matchup with NCAA Division I Portland State.

• The Mountaineers are on a two-game losing streak, last falling in Frontier Confer­ence play 35-10 to Montana Tech followed by a 59-9 loss at NCAA Division I Portland State. EOU's last win came on Sep. 7 at No. 20 Southern Oregon, when EOU scored the go-ahead touchdown with 10 seconds left.
 
• Saturday will the 30th meeting between EOU and Montana Western. The Moun­taineers hold an 19-10 record against the Bulldogs all-time, and are 12-7 under head coach Tim Camp.
 
• EOU holds an all-time re­cord of 286-470-14 (.379). 2019 marks the 74th-consecutive season in program history. EOU did not compete between 1942- 45 due to World War II.
 
• The last matchup against Montana Western was a classic. The Mountaineers defeated then No. 22 UMW 54-51 in triple over­time, amassing 593 total yards. The Mounties led 41-13 heading to the fourth quarter, but the Bulldogs scored 28 unanswered points. EOU won the game on a blocked field goal in triple OT.
 
• The Mountaineers are 35- 30 on the road all-time under Camp. They went 7-1 as the visiting team in 2016, but were 1-4 on the road in 2017. EOU im­proved its road record in 2018, going 3-2 including a win over No. 7 Southern Oregon 27-17 in Ashland. Thus far in 2019, EOU is 1-2 on the road with a win at No. 20 SOU.
 
• The Mountaineers made their first trip to the NAIA Championships in 2016, reaching the semifi­nals.
 
• The Bulldogs have en­joyed a 3-0 start to the year and have thus moved up to No. 19 in the NAIA rank­ings. Last week, Montana Western took down reign­ing conference champions Rocky Mountain by a dom­inant 38-7 score.
