Game Notes: Mountaineers Host Home Opener Vs. Montana Tech

LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon football team hosts its home opener on Saturday, welcoming Montana Tech to Community Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

NOTES
• Fans can watch a live stream of the game on https://portal.stretchinternet.com/eou/ and follow live stats at http://www.eousports.com/sidearmstats/football. John Mallory will be the voice of the Mountaineers in 2019.
 
• The Mountaineers are 14-17 all-time against Montana Tech and are 11-9 under head coach Tim Camp. EOU ended the Orediggers four-game winning streak last year on Oct. 20, defeating Tech 35-17.
 
• EOU holds an all-time record of 286-468-14 (.379). 2019 marks the 74th-consecutive season in program history. EOU did not compete between 1942-45 due to World War II.
 
• In the previous matchup with Montana Tech, the Mounties outscored their opponent 28-0 in the second and third quarters. Victor Dias had three-straight scores (1 rushing, 2 receiving) including a 74-yard caatch and run. Quarterback Kai Quinn threw four touchdown passes.
 
• The Mountaineers are 32-24 at Community Stadium all-time under Camp. EOU went 3-2 in La Grande in 2018, including an epic 54-51 triple overtime win over No. 22 Montana Western. EOU lost its last home game of the year 48-10 to No. 12 Rocky Mountain.
 
• The Mountaineers made their first trip to the NAIA Championships in 2016, reaching the semifinals.
 
• The Orediggers are coming off a 28-14 home loss against No. 15 College of Idaho. Tech didn't get on the board until the fourth quarter, allowing 510 yards of total offense to the Yotes, including 347 on the ground.
