No. 20 Mounties Defeated by No. 9 Menlo

ATHERTON, Calif. – The No. 20 Eastern Oregon men's wrestling team fell on the road to No. 9 Menlo at the Menlo Duals on Friday.
 
The Mountaineers (8-8) had earned two wins individually by No. 4 ranked wrestlers Mhar Caballa and Drake Randall. In a top-ranked battled with No. 6 Ian Morten in the 125-pound weight class, Caballa defeated his opponent by a very close 5-4 decision. The win gave EOU an early 3-0 lead to start the day.
 
From there, Menlo brought out four-straight top-20 ranked wrestlers that gave the Oaks a 20-3 lead. Randall ended the string of losses with a quick pin of Jordan Bernal at 165 pounds.
 
Menlo won the final four matches, with two pins and one by forfeit, to take a convincing 41-9 win over the Mountaineers.
 
EOU returns to the mat on Saturday at the Menlo Open where they will compete in individual tournament action.
