Full Game Notes vs. Montana Western (Sept. 22)

LA GRANDE, Ore. –
The Eastern Oregon football team is back home for the third time in the first four weeks of the season, coming off a bye week. EOU hosts No. 22 Montana Western at 1 p.m. at Community Stadium.

GAME NOTES
• The Blue and Gold are coming off of a close 24-17 loss at (RV) Montana Tech on Sept. 8 in Butte. The Mounties led 14-0 at halftime and forced five turnovers in the game, but four second half turnovers proved costly for EOU as Montana Tech scored 24 points in the second half.
 
• Saturday will the 29th meeting between EOU and Montana Western. The Mountaineers hold an 18-10 record against the Bulldogs all-time, splitting two games in 2017.
 
• EOU holds an all-time record of 280-465-14 (.375). 2018 marks the 73rd-consecutive season in program history. EOU did not compete between 1942-45 due to World War II.  
 
• In 2017, EOU won the first matchup with Montana Western (No. 19 at the time) 27-24 on Sept. 10 in La Grande. In the game, EOU scored a go-ahead touchdown with 4:59 to play on a Kai Quinn 37-yard touchdown run. The Bulldogs returned the favor on Oct. 21 in Dillon, Montana, winning 30-21 over EOU.
 
• The Mountaineers are 30-23 at Community Stadium all-time under Camp. EOU owned a 3-1 record at home last season and are an even 1-1 in 2018 with a victory over the College of Idaho.
 
• The Mountaineers made their first trip to the NAIA Championships in 2016, reaching the semifinals.
 
• The Blue and Gold are 6-3 at home against Montana Western under head coach Tim Camp with a two-game winning streak.
 
• Montana Western moved into the NAIA Top-25 after defeating Rocky Mountain narrowly 21-17 last week and are undefeated in 2018.

49       EOU is 49-9 all-time when leading after three quarters.
