Notes: No. 7 Mounties Host No. 19 Montana Western in NAIA Game of the Week

Full Game Notes vs. Montana Western (Sept. 10)

LA GRANDE, Ore. -
The No. 7 Eastern Oregon football team hosts its home opener on Sunday at 1 p.m. against No. 19-ranked Montana Western. The game was selected as the NAIA Football Game of the Week.
 
The game was originally scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m., but due to poor air quality in the region, officials postponed the contest for 24 hours.
 
THE MATCHUP
The Mountaineers are 26-20 at home all-time under Camp. They went 3-2 at Community Stadium in 2016.
 
Under Tim Camp, EOU is 19-21 all-time vs. top-25 opponents thanks in part to its 6-2 record in 2016.
 
The Mountaineers are coming off a 31-21 loss against Southern Oregon with the game played in Sherwood, Oregon.
 
Montana Western went 7-4 in 2016 and 6-4 in the Frontier Conference to finish in third place.
 
The Bulldogs defeated the College of Idaho 16-14 to begin their conference season on Aug. 26. They were then defeated 76-0 by Division I Weber State on Sept. 2.

SERIES HISTORY
Sunday marks the 27th meeting between EOU and Montana Western. The Mountaineers hold a 17-9 record against the Bulldogs, which includes a 2-0 record in 2016.
