Notes: Mountaineers Host Rival No. 7 SOU for Military Appreciation Game

Full Game Notes vs No. 7 Southern Oregon (Oct. 14)

LA GRANDE, Ore. –
The Eastern Oregon football team stays home for the second-straight week, hosting rival No. 7-ranked Southern Oregon for Military Appreciation Game on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Community Stadium. All veterans and active service men and women will receive free admission to the game with their military ID card.

GAME NOTES
The Mountaineers are coming off of a 41-12 victory over Montana State-Northern on Oct. 7 as EOU got a big win in front of the Homecoming crowd.

Under Camp, EOU is 5-10 all-time against Southern Oregon. The Mountaineers won both matchups in 2016, including a 45-40 win at home over then No.2-ranked SOU.

EOU holds an all-time record of 277-460-14 (.373). 2017 marks the 72nd-consecutive season in program history. EOU did not compete between 1942-45 due to World War II.

In the last game against Southern Oregon on Sept. 2, it was a top-25 battle between No. 7 EOU and No. 25 SOU. It was a close game through three quarters with the Raiders narrowly leading 17-14, but two fourth quarter touchdowns proved to be the difference in SOU's 31-21 win.

The Mountaineers are 28-20 at home all-time under Camp. Both wins for the Mountaineers have come at home this season, defeating No. 19 Montana Western 27-24 on Sept. 10 and MSU-Northern 41-12 last week.

The Raiders are in first place in the Frontier Conference and the last remaining undefeated team. They are coming off a bye week, but moved into sole possession of first place thanks to Montana Tech's 42-35 loss at Montana Western.

Southern Oregon leads the Frontier thanks to a dominant defense that has allowed just 22.2 points per game.
