KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – (RV) Oregon Tech scored 14 unanswered points in a six-minute stretch of the fourth quarter, and the (RV) Eastern Oregon University women's basketball team saw its journey in the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Tournament come to an end in heartbreaking fashion, as the Mountaineers fell to the Owls, 51-43, on Friday night at Danny Miles Court. 
EOU (21-10) was held to its lowest field-goal percentage (23.4 percent) in over 13 years, and Oregon Tech nailed 50 percent (5-for-10) of its shots in the fourth quarter to prevail at home. 
KEY PERFORMANCES
Only one player notched double digits for the Mountaineers, as senior guard Maloree Moss posted 11 points on 4-for-10 shooting, including a pair of three's. Senior forward Madeline Laan and sophomore guard Payton Parrish tallied eight points apiece, while junior guard Donniesha Webber chipped in four points. Senior forward Nikki Osborne and Laan carried EOU on the glass with 11 and 10 boards, respectively. 
Tess Armstrong led four players in double figures for the Owls (25-7) with 12 points. 
THE STORYLINE
Both teams struggled to find the bottom of the net in the opening 20 minutes, as they combined for a 25.9 percent (14-for-54) effort from the field. Moss knocked down a triple to give EOU its largest advantage (15-12) of the first half at the 4:41 mark of the second quarter, but Oregon Tech closed the stanza with an 8-3 run to take a 20-18 lead into the locker room. 
The Mountaineers missed nine of their first 10 shots to open the third, and the Owls stretched their lead to six (28-22) after a jumper by Karly LeVeque. 
But that's when things began to turn around for EOU, as the Mountaineers netted 19 of the next 24 points to snatch their largest lead (41-33) of the game after a three-pointer by Parrish at the 6:39 mark of the fourth quarter. EOU held Oregon Tech to a 20 percent (2-for-10) shooting clip and forced nine turnovers during the run. 
Following an Owl timeout, EOU came up empty on six-straight possessions. Meanwhile, Oregon Tech began to heat up from the field, as the Owls nailed four of their next eight shots, including the go-ahead triple with 1:55 remaining, to take a 43-41 advantage. 
On EOU's next possession, the Mountaineers missed three-straight shots before the Owls hauled in a defensive rebound and drew contact. Oregon Tech went 8-for-10 at the line in the final 1:12, and EOU ultimately exited with an eight-point (51-43) defeat.
