FULL GAME NOTES vs. Carroll (Nov. 12)
 
LA GRANDE, Ore. – The No. 9 EOU football team will conclude the 2016 regular season on Saturday with a matchup at Carroll, as the Mountaineers look to seal their postseason fate with a 'W.'
 
Ninth-year head football coach Tim Camp caught up with the Sports Information Office to comment on the matchup, as seen in the video above.
 
THE MATCHUP
EOU concludes the 2016 regular season by traveling to Carroll to face the Fighting Saints on Saturday, November 12 at noon MT.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday marks the 30th meeting between EOU and Carroll. The Fighting Saints lead the all-time series, 18-11. In the last meeting between EOU and Carroll, the Mountaineers mustered a 28- 21 upset victory over the Fighting Saints, who were ranked fourth in the NAIA at the time.
 
CAMP VS. THE FIGHTING SAINTS
Under Camp, EOU is 3-9 vs. Carroll, including 2-4 in Helena, Mont.
 
EOU'S LAST TIME OUT
While the second half wasn't pretty, EOU pulled o a three-point (19-16) win over Rocky Mountain on Nov. 5 in La Grande.
 
Junior wide receiver Joshua Richards snagged a 34-yard touchdown from senior quarterback Zach Bartlow to put the Mountaineers up 19-0, but the Battlin' Bears responded with 16 straight, including two tallies in the fourth quarter to make it a ball game. Gri Amies attempted a 36-yard field goal in the winding moments to send the game into overtime, but his launch went wide left, resulting in a thrilling victory for the Blue and Gold.
 
Senior running back Alfred Gross rushed for 72 yards and one touchdown, while Richards snagged four receptions for 61 yards and a tally. Junior linebacker Michal Arenas and senior linebacker Tucker Stanley logged 12 and 11 tackles, respectively.
 
CARROLL'S LAST TIME OUT
Carroll dropped a 35-28 decision to Montana Western in heartbreaking fashion, as the Bulldogs recovered a fumble late in the fourth quarter and returned it for a touchdown to take the lead for good. The Fighting Saints notched 325 of offense compared to 373 for the Bulldogs. Carroll had three turnovers to none for Montana Western. Major Ali recorded 120 yards on 22 attempts to lead the Carroll rushing attack. Conner Fohn posted four catches for 40 yards, while Troy Arntson had three catches for 55 yards. JT Linder completed nine passes for 81 yards and one score.
 
It's been an up-and-down year for the Fighting Saints. After starting the 2016 campaign with a win over first-place Montana Tech, Carroll dropped three straight, including a 14-point decision to MSU-Northern. The Fighting Saints, however, have won three of their last five, including home wins against Rocky Mountain (28-14) and MSU-Northern (49-14).
