OREGON CITY, Ore. – Despite wins from junior
Matt Nguyen (125) and sophomore
Clark Woodward (184), the EOU men's wrestling team suffered a 32-7 defeat at the hands of Clackamas Community College, the defending dual champions of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
"Today we came out and did not wrestle up to our capabilities. If we are going to have success, we need to be more physical, attack more and learn to wrestle through diversity," said head coach
Dustyn Azure. "It was a good learning experience for the young team and we need to have a short memory and be ready to battle."
EOU intends on doing exactly that as it faces a quick turnaround and returns to the mat tomorrow for the Mike Clock Open in Forest Grove, Ore.
