Tuesdays With Tim Camp: Week Nine (College of Idaho)

FULL GAME NOTES vs. College of Idaho (Oct. 29)
 
LA GRANDE, Ore. – The No. 11 EOU football team is off to its best start since the 2011 campaign, and the Mountaineers will look to continue that success this weekend with a big matchup at I-84 rival College of Idaho.    
 
Ninth-year head football coach Tim Camp caught up with the Sports Information Office to comment on the matchup, as seen in the video above.
 
THE MATCHUP
EOU is back on the road on Saturday against the Yotes of College of Idaho. Kickoff at Simplot Stadium is set for 1 p.m. MT.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday marks the 40th meeting between EOU and College of Idaho. The Yotes own a 27-11-1 edge in the series. However, the Mountaineers have won three of the last five by an average of 25 points. EOU's last triumph in Caldwell, Idaho, came during the 2014 season, when the Mountaineers put up 578 yards of total offense in a 45-21 thumping.

Under Tim Camp, EOU is 3-2 against College of Idaho. 
 
EOU'S LAST TIME OUT
EOU picked up its third straight victory after taking down then-ranked No. 21 Montana Western, 21-13, on Saturday at Community Stadium. The Mountaineers compiled three sacks and held the Bulldogs to only 37 yards on the ground - its best defensive effort since 2010. Meanwhile, senior running back Alfred Gross compiled 141 rushing yards of his own to pace the Blue and Gold.
 
Senior quarterback Zach Bartlow completed 24 passes for 204 passing yards, and he also had two rushing touchdowns. In addition, junior wide receiver Joshua Richards caught seven passes for 96 yards. Defensively, senior linebacker Tucker Stanley logged four tackles (three solo) and snagged a key interception with just over two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to keep the Bulldogs at bay.
 
COLLEGE OF IDAHO'S LAST TIME OUT
College of Idaho carded a thrilling 44-41 overtime victory over then-ranked No. 17 Southern Oregon on Saturday in Caldwell, Idaho. Trailing by three (41-38) in overtime, Marcus Lenhardt snagged a 14-yard pass from Darius-James Peterson to seal the victory for the Yotes.
 
In his first career start, Peterson rushed for 228 yards and three touchdowns, as well as 215 yards passing and two scores through the air. He became College of Idaho's first player in program history to rush and pass for over 200 yards in a game. Defensively, Nate Moore and Tristen Alesi tallied 12 and 11 tackles, respectively. The Yotes ended a five-game losing streak to the Raiders, collecting their first triumph since 1969 before football returned to the university in 2014.
