CHENEY, Wash. – The No. 14 Eastern Oregon University women's basketball team was confined to just 10 field goals, and the Mountaineers fell to NCAA Division I opponent Eastern Washington, 64-40, in an exhibition contest on Friday afternoon.

EOU saw six points apiece from junior forward Ashley Knight, junior guard Bailey Schroeder, and sophomore guard Payton Parrish.
In addition, senior forward Nikki Osborne pulled down a game-high seven rebounds to go along with four points, two assists, and two steals.
The Storyline
Eastern Washington forced five Mountaineer turnovers and raced to an early 12-0 lead at the 5:15 mark of the opening quarter after Hayley Hodgins drilled a three-pointer. Junior guard Darian Gasseling responded with a jumper from downtown on EOU's next possession, but the Eagles used a 5-0 run to stretch their lead to 14 (17-3).
The Mountaineers responded with a 15-11 run capped by a three-pointer from Parrish to pull within 10 (28-18) at halftime.
The Navy and Gold got as close as seven (33-26) with 5:21 remaining in the third quarter thanks to a pair of free throws by Osborne, but EOU was held to just one field goal for the remainder of the period, and Eastern Washington stretched its lead to 17 (48-31) by the end of the third quarter.
The Eagles nailed 43.4 percent (23-for-53) of their shots, while the Mountaineers continued their struggles from the floor with a 23.8 percent (10-for-42) clip. However, the Navy and Gold did manage to toss in a 89.5 percent (17-for-19) effort from the charity stripe.
