Schuder’s Brace Sparks EOU Women’s Soccer Past Corban, 2-0

LA GRANDE, Ore. – Senior forward Crystal Schuder is making the most of her final home games of her first and only season at EOU.

On Friday afternoon, the Penticton, B.C., native scored a goal in both halves to spur the Eastern Oregon University women's soccer team past Corban, 2-0.

While it may have been just another shutout for the Mountaineers, it was quite the special one for junior keeper Jessica Parker. With her seventh of the 2015 campaign, Parker broke the single-season shutout record at EOU.

Key Performances
Schuder netted goals in both halves to register her ninth and 10th goals of the 2015 campaign. She also tallied a season-high 10 shots en route to the victory.

Freshman forward Zoe Anderson assisted both scores for EOU, and she also launched four shots for the Navy and Gold.

Meanwhile, Katelyn Fekkes and Julia Agarkov paced Corban's offensive attack, as they both took two shots on goal.

The Storyline
In the 42nd minute, Anderson floated a pass up to Schuder who fired it in the net from 10 yards to give EOU a 1-0 lead.

The Mountaineers dominated in the shot department, outworking the Warriors, 10-3, in the opening 45 minutes.

EOU nearly extended its lead to two in the 59th minute, as senior midfielder Haley Hill found an opening behind the defense on the flick from Anderson, but Corban keeper Sheyenne Brusven made a diving save on Hill's shot attempt to keep it a one-goal game.

The Schuder and Anderson one-two punch carried over in the 64th minute, as Schuder notched her second goal of the contest off Anderson's pass to add to the damage.

Fekkes fired a pair of shots in a span of 52 seconds for Corban (4-10-1, 1-6-1 CCC), but Parker made sure the Warriors remained scoreless in order to imprint her name in the record books.

Stats of the Game
7 – Shutouts on the year for Parker, a single-season record at EOU.
2 – Goals scored by Schuder.
25 – Shots by EOU.
