Click here Top 25Eastern Oregon University football team has climbed into the NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The Mountaineers are ranked No. 25 in the first regular season poll. Last season, the Mountaineers finished 25th in the NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25.
Last Time OutThe last time the Mountaineers took the field, EOU lost a heart breaker to Southern Oregon, 35-31. EOU held a three point lead, 31-28, with nine minutes remaining in the contest. Southern Oregon scored the go ahead touchdown on a Melvin Mason two yard run with 2:11 left in the game. EOU started to slowly move the ball down the field and with 10 seconds left, Eastern Oregon was down to a four and ten.
Zach Bartlow dropped back to pass and threw a pass down the middle of the field, that fell incomplete and EOU fell to the Raiders, 35-31.
Pick 6Last Saturday, Sept. 13, senior linebacker
Matt Gayman recorded two interceptions and he took one in for a touchdown. Gayman's pick six was the first interception returned for a touchdown for EOU since, Nov. 5h, 2011.
Looking at TechThe Orediggers of Montana Tech come into this week with a record of 1-2 on the year. Montana Tech's lone victory came on Aug. 30th against MSU-Northern. Last week the Orediggers were defeated by Carroll, 38-10. Montana Tech is scoring 18.0 points per game, which is the fewest in the Frontier Conference. Nolan Saraceni leads the rushing attack as he averages 72.3 yards per game. Andrew Loudenback leads the air attack as he is throwing for 177.3 yards per game. David Meis and Rial Gunlikson led the team in tackles with 21 apiece.

Zach Bartlow ranks third in the NAIA in total offense per game this season. Bartlow is averaging 369.5 yards per game for the Mountaineers. Terrell Robinson of Faulkner (Ala.) leads the NAIA as he is averaging 392.3 yards per game.
Offensive AttackThe Mountaineers offense ranks in the top 25 in the nation in a few statistical categories. Eastern Oregon ranks seventh in passing yards per game (326.5), 12th in total offense per game (473.5) and 17th in points per game (38.0).
What's on TapFollowing Montana Tech, the Mountaineers head to Billings, Mont. to face Rocky Mountain College on Sept. 27. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. PT.
