First game for Tech
This Saturday is Montana Techs first game of the season and the Oredig¬gers come in ranked No. 7 in the NAIA. In 2012, Montana Tech was 8-3 on the season and averaged 32.3 points and gave up 23.0 points per game. Montana Tech tied for the 2012 Frontier Conference title with Southern Oregon.
Verse Ranked Opponents
Last season, Eastern Oregon was 0-2 verses ranked opponents. EOU faced No. 14 Southern Oregon on Nov. 3 and No. 11 Carroll on Sept. 22. The last win against a ranked team for the Mountaineers came on in the final game of the 2011 season when EOU defeated No. 21 Rocky Moun¬tain in Billings, Mont. In 2011, EOU was 3-1 verse ranked teams. In 2011 Mountaineers also defeated No. 1 Carroll in Helena, Mont. on Sept. 10. The following week, EOU defeated No. 23 MSU-Northern.
First Non-Conference Game Since 2011
When Eastern Oregon took on Portland State on Aug. 29, it was the Mountaineers first non-conference game since, Oct. 8, 2011, when they faced Southern Oregon. The 2012 season was the first year Southern Oregon was in the Frontier Conference. Both of those games the Moun¬taineers were on the wrong side of the scoreboard.
