Eastern Oregon University has faced Southern Oregon University 63 times and the first time they met was 1930 when Southern Oregon defeated Eastern Oregon, 14-0. Scouting Southern Oregon
Southern Oregon enters the matchup against Eastern Oregon with a record of 0-3 and 0-2 in Frontier Conference action. The Raiders faced NCAA Division I, Sacramento State. Southern Oregon gave them a run but fell 63-56 in overtime. Southern Oregon is led by the arm of junior quarterback Austin Dodge. Dodge leads the nation in total offense (1,122) and is second in passing yards per game (374.0). Melvin Mason, the current NAIA Offensive Player of the Week, rushed for 236 yards on 20 carries against Sacramento State.

Battle of 0-3's
This Saturday will be a battle of two 0-3 teams facing off when Southern Oregon travels to La Grande to face Eastern Oregon. This is the first 0-3 start for Eastern Oregon since 2010 when the Mountaineers won its fourth game of the season. For the Raiders it is its first 0-3 start since 2011 when they also won its fourth game of the season to break into the win column.

First Passing Touchdowns
The Mountaineers registered its first passing touchdown of the season against MSU-Northern. Redshirt freshman, Zach Bartlow found Jace Billingsley for the first passing touchdown with four seconds remaining before halftime. Ray Walser threw for the Mountaineers second touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Prior to those touchdown passes EOU has scored five rushing touchdowns this season.
