Last Meeting against Tech
This meeting on Saturday between Eastern Oregon University and Montana Tech will be the second meeting of the season between these two teams. They previously met on Sept. 7 in La Grande, Ore. It was the first game of the season for the Orediggers. The Mountaineers jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter on a
Chris McGinnis-Parker touchdown run. However, Montana Tech scored 23 unanswered points and defeated EOU, 23-7. In the game the Mountaineers netted 223 total yards of offense and allowed the Orediggers to gain 412 yards of total offense.
Posten Earns POW Honors
Linebacker,
Gary Posten was named Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Rocky Mountain College on Oct. 19. Posten posted a career-high 19 tackles (7 solo; 12 assisted) in the game. Along with the 19 tackles, Posten recorded one sack and a tackle for a five yard loss. He currently sits third in the NAIA in tackles per game as he averages 12.1. Posten leads the Mountaineers with 85 tackles on the season.
Last Time Out
The last time the Mountaineers took the field, EOU fell to Rocky Mountain, 45-13. In the contest the Mountaineers were outgained 588-391 by the Battlin' Bears. EOU fell down early as Rocky Mountain scored the first 14 points of the contest. Eastern Oregon broke onto the scoreboard after a 42 yard touchdown pass from
Zach Bartlow to
Luis Ortiz. However, Rocky Mountain scored the next 31 points to extend its lead to 45-6.
Dominique Blackman found
Alexander Miles for a 30 yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter and EOU fell, 45-13, to Rocky Mountain.

The Mountaineers have four regular season games remaining this season. Eastern Oregon currently holds a 2-5 record but if the Mountaineers when out they will finish with a record above .500. The Mountaineers face Montana Tech this weekend, Dickinson State Nov. 2, Southern Oregon Nov. 9 and Montana Western on No. 16. If Eastern Oregon wins three games they will record more wins this season then last season.
