Mountaineers Fall to Montana Western

Dillon, Mont. – The Eastern Oregon University football team dropped a close game to the University of Montana Western, 20-41.
 
The Mountaineers (4-6) were led by Trent Brown as he completed 11 of 16 passes for 122 yards and rushed for one touchdown. Jace Billingsley had 7 receptions for 74 yards and Christopher McGinnis-Parker rushed for 67 yards and had one touchdown on the day. EOU had a total of 338 yards of total offense.
 
Montana Western held EOU scoreless in the first-half and took a 31 point lead into halftime.
 
EOU would get on the scoreboard on the opening possession of the second half. After a 25-yard kick off return Christopher McGinnis-Parker ran for a 35-yard touchdown. Neither team would score again in the third as the Mountaineers went in the final quarter down 14-31.
 
In the fourth quarter EOU would outscore Montana Western 13-10.  Matt Orthmann would rushed for a 3 yard touchdown with 5:01 to play. Quarterback Trent Brown would then put EOU on the scoreboard for the final time with a 5-yard touchdown run. The Mountaineers couldn't stop the Dawgs as they would score twice in the fourth to give them a 41-20 victory.
 
The Dawgs completed 24 of 39 passes for 476 total yards. Quarterback Jeff Logan passed for 301 yards completing 23 of 36 passes and rushing for 1 touchdown. Dylan Kramer rushed for 128 yards and 2 touchdowns.
