The Eastern Oregon University Sports Information Department recently sat down with the business and asked a few questions.

Q: How did you hear about sponsoring Mountaineer Athletics? Why did you choose to get involved with sponsoring EOU Athletics?
A: We have been sponsoring EOU Athletics for a long time, but decided to become lifetime members because EOU is a big part of the community and we feel that we are doing our part in supporting the community and EOU Athletics.
Q: How long have you guys been in business?
A: Since 1950, so 60 years
Q: What was your favorite memory of going to school at Eastern?
A: Gunderson – The size of the school and the small class sizes, and the relationships and friendships that were built.
A: Poe – The willingness of professors and staff to help students and guide them into a career field due to the small class sizes.
A: Lewis – The great education, and professor to student ratio.
Q: Do you have a favorite athletic memory?
A: Gunderson – The overall experience and still being in contact with former football teammates.
Q: How long have the five of you known each other, and how did you begin the business?
A: There were four prior owners. Each member came in at different times and four of the five are currently active; Seydel is retired.
Q: How long have you been in the La Grande area? And, what do you like most about living in the area?
A: Gunderson – 13 years, I enjoy the outdoors, the lifestyle, and not having to commute and knowing the people he works with.
A: Poe – 29 years, I enjoy the quality of life and being able to raise children in small schools. I have three kids, one who is 17 and twins that are 18. My daughter will be a freshman on the basketball team at Eastern this upcoming season.
A: Moeller – 31 years, I enjoy the small town atmosphere compared to the city. I moved from Boise.
A: Lewis – I was born and raised in La Grande, but moved away for a few years then returned. I enjoy the cultural influence that Eastern has on the community. I also like the agricultural and wilderness environment.
Q: What are you looking forward to with your sponsorship and with EOU Athletics this year?
A: Good recognition for the office and we feel that athletics are headed the right way as athletes become more and more involved in the community. We look forward to continue success with the teams.
