ASHLAND, Ore. – For nine-straight seasons, Southern Oregon fared quite well vs. the Eastern Oregon University women's soccer team. But that all changed on Saturday evening, as the Navy and Gold defeated the Raiders for the first time since 2006.
Key Performances
Freshman forward Zoe Anderson continues to plaster her name all over the EOU women's soccer record books, as she mustered her fourth game-winner of the 2015 campaign and became the all-time leader for game-winners in a season.
Sophomore midfielder Makensie Forsyth fired two shots on frame for EOU, while junior goalkeeper Jessica Parker collected a pair of saves and her fifth shutout of the season.
The Storyline
Anderson's goal came in the 9th minute from 10 yards out off the assist from sophomore forward Morgan Delay.
The Raiders (4-7-2, 3-3 CCC) nearly tied the contest in the 21st and 22nd minutes, but Parker came away with her two saves to keep SOU scoreless.
In the 90th minute, SOU's Presley Lambert launched one last hope for the Raiders, but her shot was blocked by the Navy and Gold.
Both teams tallied eight shots apiece, while SOU had four corner kicks compared to two by EOU.
