Wade Green rejoined the Eastern Oregon University football staff in 2020, and currently serves as an assistant coach for the defensive line. A veteran coach with over 20 years of experience at the collegiate, prep, and international levels, Green brings a deep understanding of defensive strategy and player development to the Mountaineer program. This is his second stint at EOU, having also coached the defensive line from 2006 to 2008.

Since returning to Eastern, Green has mentored some of the program’s top defensive talent, including two NAIA All-Americans in 2021—Chase Van Wyck and Sage Delong—as well as multiple All-Conference selections and two Walt Harris Award winners. Throughout his coaching career, Green has developed multiple impact players, including a Buck Buchanan Award winner and a third-round NFL Draft pick for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Green’s extensive coaching resume includes stops at Army West Point's United States Military Preparatory School (USMAPS), where he coached from 2009 to 2017, compiling a 63–20 record and serving as interim head coach during the 2013 season (7–1 record). He also held positions at Kentucky State University (Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator), Jacksonville University, Cal Poly SLO, and internationally with the Saarland Hurricanes (GFL). At the high school level, Green coached at San Luis Obispo High School and Woodville High School.

As a player, Green was a standout defensive lineman at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He began his coaching career shortly thereafter, serving as a student and volunteer assistant on a Cal Poly defense that ranked first nationally in rushing defense and ninth in scoring defense in 2004.

A San Diego, California native, Green graduated from Cal Poly in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He is married to Jana Green, and together they have one son, Xavier.
