Coach May is entering his fifth season as a Mountaineer Men’s Assistant Wrestling Coach in 2020-21.
May has played a crucial role on the coaching staff since the rebirth of the Mountaineer program. He has assisted with the growth and development of the student-athletes in many ways on and off the mat.
He has assisted four individual NAIA All–American performances, coached at four NAIA National tournaments, and is also the president of the local La Grande Mat Club, which spearheads the development of local youth.
May is a tremendous role model for the student-athletes as he is able to balance his full-time job as the Group Life Coordinator at Oregon Youth Authority, attend and coach at EOU’s college wrestling practices, and contribute to the youth wrestling practices.
As an athlete, Coach May competed at North Idaho College where he was an All-American.
Coach May is a tremendous husband and father, and has great support of his wife Amanda May, daughter Eilie, and son Noah.
